This is my review on purple shampoo. Everyone seems to like the Clairol Professional Shimmer Lights purple shampoo but honestly I wasn't going to pay like $14 bucks for a shampoo! No way! So I did some research and found out another brand of hair products make a purple shampoo which to me is better because it doesn't dry your hair out like the other guys! Go figure!!!! I was walking by a busy avenue and came across a non-Sally's beauty supply store.... I guess its like a "lower end" beauty supply but I actually liked it more than sally's. Anyway..... the point is I found the purple shampoo by One 'n Only and I bought it for $5 bucks. I mean come on... That is incredible. I don't know if everyone will be this lucky but I suggest you shop around and give those "lower end" places a try.
Now for my review on the product: This is for blonde people or people that bleach their hair and want a product to get the orange or brassy tone that bleaching can sometimes leave in your hair. I recently did hombre highlights and I did them myself at home, but after trial and error, I finally realized what I was doing wrong and it was too late. So I needed a fix. I did a toner but that didn't help much, so I went on to try the purple shampoo.
My first wash I noticed a difference immediately. I did shampooed like 3 times in one wash though. I noticed it to be very effective.
My second wash I noticed many sections of my hair became very light, almost like a platinum blonde. Although I still had some orangy tones, They were very much lighter and I had hope that the purple shampoo would gradually make it better and better.
My third wash and I still have a few orangys in there but I can officially say they highlights are blonde. Not platinum blonde or anything like that but a lot of the orange is out and I am very happy.
Today will be my fourth wash and I know it will only get better. I have officially found an inexpensive alternative to shimmer lights shampoo.
ALSO: My hair was very damaged and dry, I could not get it to be soft again. The first time I used this it made a huge difference in making it softer too. It was a miracle because I thought conditioners alone wouldn't do the trick and this did the trick. So the name of the shampoo really speaks for itself and it is definitely not false advertising.
Please please note that this is a gradual fix. If you are looking for something faster, then you must consult with a professional or use a toner from your local beauty supply in order to achieve silver, platinum blonde, or white hair.

Love is Beautiful
So you know how you come across things, I don't know like for example: when you're on Facebook, or on the Internet being extremely boring.... Well I recently came across something like that.
A video was posted onto Facebook and I couldn't help but click it due to description. When I watched it I became teary eyed, (I'm so sensitive) and I couldn't get enough of it because it was just so awesome and beautiful. So here is the video from me to you.
Cry, feel the beauty of real love and everything it does to you.
Have you been in Love lately... Have you felt Love lately..... Has someone shown you how much they love you? Not all of us get to experience such a beautiful thing in our lifetimes, so lets appreciate it when it does happen.

Personal Reflection
This little entry here is not a review or my usual stuff it is just a personal thought.
Remember when you were a kid and you used to watch cartoons and it was just mind blowing and it was intriguing. Like you could just watch and watch and watch? Yeah well I had one of those experiences where you watch the same old cartoon that you used to as a kid and wondered: Why was this so captivating to me again?
Lol I mean like some of these cartoons I'm just like really? So many little things I didn't notice as a kid I notice now. Most of it because I simply didn't understand when I was younger. Like for example a sign on a ride at an amusement par said: "Elevator to hell" I never even noticed that as a child!!!! Lol I can laugh at it now but as a kid I was completely oblivious to it.
Some of the things are meant for only the adults to understand. I get it now.
Anyway, just a reflection of an experience I had recently.

Pure Extra-Virgin, Organic Coconut Oil
If there is one thing I get asked A LOT, its about my skin. My face skin to be exact. I do pride myself on my clear skin and even complexion. Lol So I thought I'd share a little secret of mine and tell you all about Coconut Oil.
Now I know its weird because on the bottle it says "Good for cooking", But I guarantee you that it is absolutely safe for your precious skin, actually its amazing.
I stumbled upon this product by mistake because I was actually looking for a weight-loss product but I'm glad I did stumble upon coconut oil because boy I'm hooked.
Personally I got my bottle off of Amazon.com. I use "Pure Extra-Virgin, Organic Coconut Oil" and this is the most recommended. Below is a picture of the actual brand and bottle that I purchased but I'm sure any other brand will do. Oh and it is very inexpensive for the most part. Good stuff!
So lets get to the point right? Right! Here are a few of the benefits I've gained personally and below I will post some health benefits that are actually proven by research and all that good stuff.
My main use of coconut oil is on my skin: After I shower I apply some on my face. When I shower at night I sleep on it then wash my face in the morning (of course) with cold water and then apply my make-up or whatever I'm doing to my face that morning. lol When I shower in the morning I apply it right before my make-up and let it absorb a bit and then dry it off a bit if it is still too oily. You can wash it off if you feel uncomfortable just dabbing your face with a dry towel to soak off the oily residue. I did notice a difference in my complexion and how it has become more even. Let me say this.... I don't break out very often, so when I do break out its like one pimple or two the most and I go insane because I'm not used to breaking out. But one more observation I've made on coconut oil is that I haven't had a break out since using it. This is absolutely great for me! I also read it has great anti-aging benefits and who wants wrinkles right? Not me! So I can definitely say this is like a big plus, especially for women. (Not that I-ll be getting wrinkles anytime soon, but you know...just in case ;])
***Also note that Coconut oil is a solid, but once it comes in contact with your skin it becomes an oil and is very easy to apply and absorbed very quickly by the skin. Very pleasant smell (at least to me it is) sort of like a tropical island coconutty smell. lol
On my hair: I've used this once on my hair because like I said I am a big fan of Moroccan argan oil for my hair so I do prefer that but I did want to give coconut oil a test run on my hair, so I did. My observation was basically softer, silkier hair. What I did was waited for the day I was going to wash my hair, drenched my hair in it a few hours before washing my hair, then I just did random things around my house till I felt awesome enough to go wash my hair. lol
Stretch Marks: Yesssssss I have them and like a million other people do as well. Whether they are from growing, or gaining weight quickly then loosing it and vice versa, or pregnancy. I will tell you right now they are unsightly but there is absolutely nothing we can do about them once we have them....Unless of course you have thousands to spare on surgery. Yeah but that's a whole 'nother post. Coconut oil has made a big difference in the stretch marks I do have. I have fair skin. I will say that from applying it (and note I am not religious about applying coconut oil to stretch marks) but I will say that the few times I have applied coconut oil, its made them less visible and closed up a bit.
Here is a list of some "research proven" health benefits of Coconut Oil:
Reduces risk of having heart disease
Stimulates metabolism
Promotes normal thyroid function
Helps loose and maintain ideal body weight
Kills viruses, bacteria, fungi and other pathogens
Functions as an antioxidant
Lessens chronic inflammation
Relieves symptoms of gallbladder disease
Protects against cancer

Expels tapeworms, lice and other parasites
Ward off skin infections

Accelerates healing of wounds, cuts, burns, etc.
Prevents diabetes and relieves health risks associated with it
Prevents periodontal disease and tooth decay
Until my next one dolls.....

Organix Moroccan Argan Oil Renewing Treatment
So.... I've been using a new product for my hair since my MoroccanOil Treatment is all done. (Love that stuff by the way, but that's a whole 'nother post)
My new product is by "Organix" and I've never seen this brand on the market before up until recently. I guess I haven't seen it because my eyes just didn't want or need to see it lol but apparently they've been on the market for some time now.
Anyway... I bleached my hair like 3 times and toned it and toned it again and yeah you get the point... it was literally about to fall off and extremelyyyyyy damaged so I needed some crazy repair and I soaked my hair in MoroccanOil Treatment and wasted like half a bottle, but I still needed a super hero for my damaged hair. So I went on a mission to find something that could possibly cure my hair and not having to go through the emotional pain of having my beautiful long hair fall off. I came across this random "Organix" Brand and they had this one "flavor" called the Moroccan Argan Oil flavor amongst many others but this one called my attention of course because I am a fan of argan oil and the wonders it works.
Okay so now to THE POINT I was trying to make... basically this stuff is really really good. (NO I am not getting paid for this) I am actually amazed at how good this product is because of what I payed for it... wait for it... wait for it... $7.... Yessss $7. LOL I bought it at Bed, Bath & Beyond (and this is another reason why I love this store LOL)
The first night I tried it I immediately noticed a hugggeeee difference in the texture of my hair. It was like if it was alomost back to normal. It was soft, manageable and it didn't feel like it was about to snap off anymore. I'm not going to say it restored ALL of the moisture back but it did a pretty damn good job for the first time. Not even my MoroccanOil Treatment did that!!!! Yeaahhh!
So I was very pleased with this new hair treatment and I will continue to purchase it. I think it is a great buy and if you have colored, bleached or just very dry and damaged hair, then it is something worth looking into and trying at least once.
If this is helpful at all... I have very soft and fine, but thickish hair. (Totally made up word) ;)
It is straight and it doesn't curl up when I wet it or anything (not that it wont work for curly hair), I don't think that should be a major factor. It is mostly healthy and balanced. Not oily.... unless of course its really dirty for some reason, and not dry but very color treated. Plus of course my recent bleaching rampage dried it out like to the max LOL. So hopefully this helps some of you save your hair from the damage demon.
Side note: This product is not something you apply and leave in or a serum, it is more like a apply and leave in for 5 minutes before you wash your hair treatment. So if you are not into that stuff then don't purchase it. I didn't notice until I got home and I usually hate those types of "before you wash your hair" products but I don't mind this one at all. The label also says that if you apply heat it is more effective but I haven't tried this method yet.
Happy New Year Readers.... till my next one.
